A second blog to introduce our Kids Active Village partners!

Here’s the next blog about our wonderful partners at the Move Revolution Kids Active Village – read on so you can get a feel for the day and what is going on. It’s going to be such fun!

We are thrilled with the list of sports clubs and businesses we have joining us at the Move Revolution Kids Active Village this year, and we had a chat with some of them to hear all about what they have planned and how you can find out more about them:

StarSteppers – Anna Brunton and Hannah Everitt

Thank you for being part of Move Revolution’s Kids Active Village 2018. What are you looking forward to?

At Star Steppers we are looking forward to engaging with the local community and meeting lots of children and young people and Inviting them to take part in our fun planned activities.

Tell us about your business. When were you founded and how has it developed since then?

Star Steppers is run by Anna Brunton and Hannah Everitt. We were both school friends who went our separate ways to train professionally as dancers, singers and actors. We then met again aged 21 and at this point Star Steppers was one class in Cheam and over the years we have expanded to open classes in Reigate, Caterham, Horley and Cobham. As well as launching our now established Step Into Education programme, which means we work with many schools in Surrey to teach children and train teachers to teach dance to their pupils.

What do you enjoy most about running your business?

Hannah and I enjoy working with so many children and providing a high quality musical theatre training, watching the children progress, gain new skills, make new friends and gain confidence.

Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?

Nothing is impossible the word itself says l’m possible. Audrey Hepburn.

How can we find out more about you (web and social links)? Do you have any joining offers/free try out sessions? Website:www.star-steppers.com. Facebook: star steppers performing arts ltd. twitter: @star_steppers. All children are welcome to attend a free taster session prior to joining Star Steppers. During the week 18th- 23rd September we will be running our Disney Mashup Challenge week to launch our 2018 show which will be based on Disney films. All children whether a Star Stepper or not are welcome to sign up and take part in the challenge.

Springfit

Thank you for being part of Move Revolution’s Kids Active Village 2018. What are you looking forward to?

Getting everyone involved in being active – we will have a rebounder and some other equipment so people can give gymnastics a try!

Tell us about your business. When were you founded and how has it developed since then?

Springfit Gymnastics and Trampoline Club is just turned 10! We have been offering classes in Surrey and Sussex since 2007 and now we are running at 5 different locations. We have classes for everyone from preschoolers to adults in both trampolining and gymnastics and also have Parkour classes and boys only classes – literally something for everyone!

What do you enjoy most about your business?

Springfit is such a fun and friendly club and this extends from our coaches to our members. It is great to see children and adults benefitting from our classes and having fun whilst they do it!

What has been your most memorable event/milestone to date?

Our 10th Birthday Party at the beginning of September was great fun! Seeing our members progress and work their proficiency badges is always a joy to see.

What does the future hold for your business?

We are hoping to continue expanding and offer our brand of teaching gymnastics and trampolining to more people!

Dinki Dunkers

Thank you for being part of Move Revolution’s Kids Active Village 2017. What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to being part of the kids activity village. I will enjoy watching the children having fun and seeing their smiling faces, whilst taking part in all the activities.

Tell us about your business. When were you founded and how has it developed since then?

I started my business Dinki Dunkers in March 2017. I teach the basic fundamentals of sports to children aged 2.5yrs upwards at the Coleman Redland Centre in Reigate. I have seen many older children shy away from sport due to a lack of confidence and self esteem. I believe a focus on physical development as part of a child’s well being and development can prevent this. My aim is to teach locomotion, stability and object control skills along with problem solving and learning to work as a team.

What does the future hold for your business?

I have recently just finished my first term of Dinki Dunkers and some of the children are moving on to school in September. Although I am sad to see them go, I am excited for them as they can now start school knowing the basic fundamentals of sport which will help their self esteem. This year I will be taking my business into schools and work alongside the teachers and the curriculum to promote sport and healthy living.

How can we find out more about you? Do you have any joining offers/free try out sessions?

Next term: 7 sessions for the price of 6 if you book in advance. Check out my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/DinkiDunkers/
